Production Part commodity responsibilities including Semiconductors / Automotive Displays / various other electronic components (Responsible spend of the position is about $100- $160 million per 1 year) Commodity Management, including: ---Development of commodity strategies ---New product introduction ---Supplier Risk analysis (Financial and Business Continuity Planning), Detailed cost analysis ---Annual price negotiations Develop and implement annual cost reduction plans, including: ---Commercial negotiation ---VAVE activity --- Localization Additional Responsibilities: ---Executes purchase contracts for assigned commodities ---Identifies, researches, and evaluates suppliers that meet the organization's standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply. ---Recognizes factors driving market price, evaluates and compares current price to market to secure reduced prices ---Analyzes and evaluates supplier bids, proposals, or quotations; negotiate prices and delivery conditions; and commits to purchases (within established limits of authority) with terms that are in the organization's best interest ---Interprets inventory targets, production schedules, purchase requisitions, orders, and other documents to coordinate purchasing activities with the organization's current and anticipated demand for goods and materials ---Conducts ongoing and annual cost reduction analysis. Creates recommendations, presentations and reports out to management ---Evaluates and provides recommendation to update current processes and procedures in order to ensure maximum efficiency in purchasing efforts ---Acts as a resource to less experienced personnel ---Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements: 2- 4 years purchasing experience New model launch activity experience Skilled in negotiations and strategic planning Ability to effectively manage multiple projects concurrently across multiple locations Experience in coordinating VAVE and LCC Activities Develop effective relationships across functional areas and multiple plant locations Basic ability to read, understand, and analyze commercial contracts Travel 25% or less Preferred: Electronic Production Part Experience Willing to participate in expatriate program, spending 1.5-2yrs in Japan
