Lead Maintenance Technician

Job Description:

The purpose of this position is to lead a team of professionally diverse maintenance techs to maintain and continuously improve the Southfield site. This is a hands-on role with time equally shared between performing work and follow up activities associated to the teams work. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Candidate must be able to lead a team of professionals. Coordinates, oversees and/or manages repair and maintenance work assignments performed by technicians, vendors and contractors performing building maintenance, construction, and other building improvement activities. Reviews work orders to ensure that assignments are completed and customers are satisfied. Reviews and maintains regular safety PMs and other required PMs in SAP ensuring the effectiveness of the maintenance PM program. Responsible for facilities inspections and periodic report out. Able to put together project scopes and material requirements to ensure a timely and successful project implementation. Able to obtain and review price quotes for the procurement of parts, services, and labor for projects. Intermediate computer skills with the ability to utilize Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint to furnish data in a presentable manner. Maintains maintenance teams safety training, oversees maintenance hired contractor safe work permit issuance, audits team safety performance in job execution, and maintains a safe work environment. Other duties may be assigned. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Minimum ten years of related experience and/or training. Associates degree or Bachelors degree preferred with focus on business, technical or management areas. Prior supervisory experience preferred. CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES Professional Mechanical Trade Certification and or Facility Management certification preferred. Driver's license may be required. COMMUNICATION SKILLS Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues. REASONING ABILITY Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills. Working knowledge of architectural, electrical and mechanical systems. SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY Decisions made with thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines. Responsible for setting work unit and/or project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to department. Job Requirements:
