About this Position:


  • Coordinate pickup and delivery of abandoned vehicles.
  • Counsel customers on the Abandonment process when needed and ensure we are in compliance when securing these vehicles.
  • Work with impounds, and repair facilities to negotiate fees and charges.

    Outcomes & Activities:

    • Contact Impound lots and repair facilities to negotiate fees owed to secure vehicles.
    • Answer phones calls from auctions, contractors, customers, shops/impound lots, and internal Credit Acceptance departments.
    • Evaluate vehicle condition, value and determine most cost effective manner to secure and sell vehicle and to determine when vehicle is not worth repossession.
    • Ensure Statutory Notices and compliance requirements are adhered to.
    • Ensure that the abandoned process guidelines are adhered to.
    • Work with our repossession contractor network to ensure ABAN related repossession requests are being processed, vehicles are secured and transported to auction.
    • All other duties as assigned.
    • Attendance as outlined in the department attendance policy.

      Requirements:

      • You need to be able to speak clearly, professionally and articulately on the telephone.
      • You need to be able to talk and type at the same time (talking with customers while documenting relevant notes).
      • You need to be able to document account notes clearly and efficiently.
      • You need to be able to work independently and in a team environment.
      • You need to be able to operate office equipment (copy machines, fax, telephone, and keyboard).
      • Remain compliant with our policies, processes and legal guidelines
      • High school diploma or GED
      • Previous customer service or collections experience

        Preferred:

        • Working Knowledge of MS Office and Internet experience
        • Knowledge of vehicle repair or estimating experience
        • Experience in negotiating with vendors and customers
        • Experience in auto sales, remarketing vehicles or insurance process
        • Experience in the finance or automotive industry

              Target Compensation: $15.50/hourly

              Required degrees must have been earned at institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.
