What You Will Do:
This is a PRN position with rotational shifts; may work
holidays and/or weekends.
Provide anatomic pathology services under
the supervision of a pathologist.
What You Will Need:
- Perform gross description and dissection of human tissue
surgical specimens for microscopic examination, holding and
transport/shipment, ensuring proper identification and
- Prepare specimens for cytological studies and maintain surgical
and medical cytology reports.
- Assist with fine needle aspirations performed in Radiology and
- Prepare cases for and assist with the coordination of cancer
conferences. Supply instruction to pathology residents.
- May assess and/or process frozen section laboratory specimens
according to established histology laboratory policies.
- May perform, under the direction of a pathologist, postmortem
Licensure / Certification /
- Preferred Credential(s):
- Pathologist Assistant credentialed from the American Society
for Clinical Pathology Board of
- High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or
Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.
PA(ASCP) certification and minimum 1
year experience required.
