We Are Hiring Spclst-Intake, Behavioral Lic - Beh Hlt Gen OP 001 - PRN, Rotating - Ascension Providence Hospital, Southfield Campus - BU 34014 - Southfield, MI. Must have 6 months experience in an acute care setting, Emergency Department experience preferred. Experience in acute psych evaluations, and case management, knowledge of insurance companies for Behavioral Medicine patients. Must be available for day shifts, week days, weekends, and afternoons on an on-call basis as a PRN. Willingness to pick up midnight shifts as offered as well. Must have LMSW, LPC or LLP licensure. What You Will Do As an associate with Ascension Michigan, you will have the opportunity to conduct interviews and behavioral health assessments for potential admissions. Responsibilities: Provides admissions and intake services to patients and potential patients. Responds to telephone inquiries from persons seeking mental health care or information about mental health-related services. Admits patients to the hospital and registers outpatients with appropriate physician orders or transfers to another facility. Documents calls and related admission information. Reviews all paperwork accompanying patients to ensure adherence with hospital and regulatory policies. May staff a crisis hotline. What You Will Need Licenses/Certifications/Registration: Required Credential(s): One or more of the following: Master Social Worker specializing in Clinical Practice credentialed from the Michigan Board of Social Work obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Master Social Worker credentialed from the Michigan Board of Social Work obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Counselor credentialed from the Michigan Board of Counseling obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office. Education: Diploma High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required. Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling or Psychology preferred. Work Experience: One year acute care with a focus on Emergency Department Crisis and acute care screening preferred. Familiarity with psychiatric criteria for inpatient care, a familiarity with referral sources, computer experience and savvy, case management experience also a plus. Bonus/Commission: No
