We Are Hiring Technician-Histology - Lab Pathology Anc - PRN,Rotating - Ascension Providence Hospital, Southfield, MI - Rotational schedule based on needs of the department. May work hilidays and/or weekends. What You Will Do As an associate with Ascension-MI, you will have the opportunity to collect and prepare tissue specimens for routine and special procedures to confirm a patient diagnosis. Responsibilities: Follows established procedures for collecting and processing biological specimens for analysis. Inputs patient demographics into computer system. Reports results and maintains documentation. Operates and maintains equipment used for embedding and sectioning specimens. Follows safety requirements and appropriately handles and disposes of chemicals. Performs histological preparation of samples including the embedding, cutting and staining of tissue for pathology. Performs special stains on tissue, including the operation and maintenance of equipment and supplies used in this task. What You Will Need Licenses/Certifications/Registration: Preferred Credential(s): Histological Tech. Any issuing authority accepted. Education: Diploma  High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required Work Experience: None required.
