Job Description Job Description Skilled tradesperson who creates
and prepares molds for the casting of metal castings and tools.
Responsible for shaping sand or other materials into molds that
will contain molten metal during the casting process. This ensures
precision and quality of the final metal product. Mold Preparation:
Prepare and shape sand or other mold materials, ensuring accurate
dimensions and proper alignment. Coremaking: Involved in creating
cores, which are internal cavities within a mold, to form complex
shapes in the casting. Pattern Handling: Working with patterns,
which are replicas of the desired metal part, to create the mold
cavity. Equipment Operation: Operation of various tools and
machinery, including hand tools, pneumatic tools, and machinery for
packing and molding. Molten Metal Handling: Involved in pouring
molten metal into prepared molds. Quality Control: Inspection of
molds and castings for defects and ensure they meet quality
standards.
