We are seeking a sharp legal assistant for our busy law firm who
can help our attorneys and paralegals assist clients and keep the
office running smoothly. You'll work with the team to prepare a
variety of legal documents and handle office correspondence like
answering emails and phone calls, scheduling meetings and travel,
and reminding the team of upcoming deadlines. If you're an

Responsibilities:
--- Help with creating a variety of litigation documents, including
pleadings, motions, subpoenas, affidavits, contracts, and briefs
for case preparation, and proofread documents when necessary
--- Use daily time records to properly process client billing with
support from the accounting department
--- Accept other administrative tasks as needed to assist the team
and ensure the firm runs smoothly
--- Take care of administrative tasks and office correspondence by
answering phone calls and emails, communicating with opposing
attorney offices, taking dictation, and informing the team of
upcoming deadlines
--- Arrange travel, schedule meetings and appointments for the
team, such as depositions, and coordinate with outside vendors for
events
--- Conduct legal research, when necessary, with guidance from
attorneys and paralegals
Qualifications:
--- At least 5 years of experience in a law firm setting,
performing administrative tasks
--- Experience in criminal law is a plus
--- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet tight
deadlines with quick turnaround times
--- Experience in billing time accurately and efficiently
--- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
--- Some knowledge of legal software, case management, and
docketing programs
--- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
--- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
--- Patient and consistent in maintaining established standards,
guidelines, and procedures
--- Unhurried, methodical, and step-by-step approach to
well-defined, repetitive tasks
--- Ability to investigate information with empathy and a positive
attitude
--- Effective team player and collaborator with a cooperative
approach to work
