Eaton's eMobility division is currently seeking a Software Project Lead to join our team. This position is based at our Southfield, MI location. Relocation and/or Sponsorship is available for qualified candidates currently residing in the USA.

Position Overview:

The Software Project Lead is responsible for Define and develop a detailed software development plan and strategy including key tasks, milestones and deliverables. In this role, you will work with system, hardware group and product manager to coordinate the product development and drive the execution of planned tasks, milestones and deliverables to ensure projects are delivered on time and within the defined scope, budget and time frames.

In this function you will:

  • Provide regular communication to project stakeholders and senior management regarding project status, budget, risks, decisions, delivery quality and resource related issues.
  • Attending customer meetings, manage customer expectation and communicate project status, releases, risks and dependency. Working with customer to provide solutions to both planning and technical issues.
  • Working with software team members and quality assurance department to ensure the compliance of EATON software development lifecycle process and pass required gates and quality assessment.
  • Support RFQ efforts by being the software subject expert in leading the scope, estimating, planning effort for EATON eMobility products, writing proposal, attending meetings and contribute to other related activities.
  • Mentor and coaching team members and provide feedback on team's performance.

    Required (Basic) Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science.
    • Minimum of seven (7) years' experience in automotive software development using embedded C/C++ programming languages.
    • Minimum of three (3) years' software project management or project lead experience in the automotive industry..

      Preferred Qualifications:
      • Master of Science degree in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science.
      • Working experience with AUTOSAR and/or Matlab-Simulink based design using standard tools and methodologies.
      • Experience with multi-core, pre-emptive Real-Time Operating Systems and vehicle communication protocols such as CAN/CAN-FD, SPI and LIN.
      • Working experience with IBM tool chain (Doors-NG, RTC, Rhapsody) JAZZ a plus.
      • Working experience with test tools such as ETAS/INCA, CANape, CANalyzer.
      • Experience with motor controls and model-based controls design and development.
      • Experience in developing inverter, OBC and DCDC a plus
      • Developing software to MISRA coding standards and MAAB standards
      • Compliance with ISO-26262 and ASPICE standards.
