What You Will Do As an Associate with Ascension Providence Hospital, Southfield Campus, you will have the opportunity to collect and submits clinical data to data registry platform.Responsibilities:Compiles, documents and enters all procedures.Identifies opportunities for process improvement and clinical review.Assists, plans, prepares and implements patient support groups, seminars and education sessions.Conducts follow-up on patients on continuum of care and updates medical record.Responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting clinical data elements for MTQIP eligible cases.Works collaboratively with the trauma program registry staff, clinical staff, and trauma program manager to collect and submit reliable data. Partners with trauma registry staff to develop and implement standard practices, policies, and procedures. Identifies opportunities for clinical quality improvement and other special projects as requested by the MTQIP Coordinating Center.Attends consortium-wide meetings, and data abstractor meetings as a hospital representative, maintaining regular contact with MTQIP surgical champions and other members of the trauma team at the institution; prepares for and participates in site audits by the MTQIP Coordinating Center, resolving data discrepancies, and responding to the MTQIP Coordinating Center requests. Participates in daily patient rounds.Enters additional patient information into the registry, I.E. complications, process improvement issues and completion of a yearly MTQIP PI project.What You Will Need Licenses/Certifications/Registration:Required Credential(s): Certification specializing in Advanced Cardio Life Support obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC) required.Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum Instructor certification required within two years of hire.Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure with the State of Michigan required.Education:Bachelor of Science Bachelor's of Science in Nursing preferred, required within 5 years of hireWork Experience:Five years minimum of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse (BSN Preferred) or equivalent (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant. Trauma Experience preferred. Experience with data abstraction from medical records, and analyzing and interpreting processes of care, and clinical outcomes is preferred. Experience with Microsoft office (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required.
