Job Title : Direct Support Professional Job Overview : We are looking for relationally-driven individuals with an upbeat attitude. Candidates must be willing to participate in hands-on care tasks as unique to each individual served, and open to embracing Progressive Lifestyles’ philosophy of Gentle Teaching amidst all interactions both inside or outside the individual's home. To be successful as an Direct Supports Professional, candidates should be patient, compassionate, and able to consistently arrive in a timely manner to assigned shifts. They should remain positive even while adapting to occasional surprises. They will build positive relationships with intentionality and subscribe to the philosophy of a Culture of Gentleness as embraced across Progressive Lifestyles. Essential Activities : Assisting individuals in our care with daily self care needs Implementing individual's programs and leisure activities in alignment with the established Individual Plan of Service Distributing medications in accordance with established protocols Documenting medication provisions, caregiving tasks completed, activities and reporting on goal progress in the Electronic Health Record Promoting a clean and safe environment in the home including light housekeeping tasks as assigned Transportation of people supported in the company van to Doctor's appointments, recreational outings and Day Program Attend mandatory meetings and in-service trainings Prerequisites (education, experience etc.,) : Desire to be proactive and promote a positive experience for others Must be a minimum of 18 years old Valid Driver's license Physical and Sensory Requirements: Ability to communicate promptly verbally, in writing and via communications tools utilized Ability to independently operate personal computers and related digital devices Ability to travel in the community or to predetermined locations where pertinent to the job role and scheduled activities
