The Account Manager develops and expands relationships with
strategically important contacts within the assigned Customer
Account. S/he is responsible for achieving strategic new business
acquisition targets and associated commercial objectives. This
employee is responsible to manage and coordinate the overall
relationship with the customer in the assigned product/commodity
area.

About the Position:
-
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with Purchasing and
Engineering
- Educate customers capabilities, strengths, products,
etc.
- Identify and acquire strategic New Business according to the
Sales/Acquisition Plan and Company Strategy and aligned commercial
objectives
- Initiate and support the quoting and costing processes.
Activities may include Obtaining competitive market information,
utilizing procedures for establishing prices, documenting the basis
for the pricing, and providing professional written quotations to
the Ford. As required, coordinate global quotations with other
subsidiaries
- Negotiate and verify the accuracy, acceptability and
completeness of all purchase orders and contracts, comparing them
to the associated quotes. Determine that resources will be made
available in a timely fashion to deliver on the terms of the
contract. Follow procedures to introduce the orders or contracts
into the process and systems
- Initiate and coordinate commercial aspects of Engineering
Changes and Capacity Studies
- Customer pricing and Purchase Orders: Ensure that customer POs
and their systems are consistently aligned in order to facilitate
timely and accurate payments
- Maintain Bump Charts and related Customer Price Management
documents such that information can be shared with the customer at
any time
- Manage Tier One Accounts that are associated with assigned
products/commodities
- Support manufacturing & logistics on issues of quality,
delivery, SREAs, etc.
- Review customer sales/marketing figures with sales planning
(weekly, quarterly)
- Work with Product Line Managers, Advanced Business Development
and Cost Estimating to generate annual cost saving/cost sharing
proposals to Ford that will meet 'Supplier Engagement'
objectives
- Keep Finance informed of changes to commercial agreements that
affect the Business Case and respond to requests for BC updates and
spending curves on a periodic basis
- Assure that all quoted costs (ED&T, Tooling, Spot Buys,
etc.) are invoiced according to the prescribed process

Requirements: -
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or
Equivalent -
- 5+ Years Work Related Sales Experience
- Excellent Verbal and Communication Skills
- Ability to Develop and Maintain Customer Relationships
- Technical Background or Experience in Automotive Electrical or
Electrical Products
- Identify Strategic Opportunities, Prepare a Compelling
-Proposal, -and Lead the Team Through the Acquisition
Process
- Understanding of Quoting/Costing Processes
- Experience with MS Office Applications
