Business units include Copper and Brass Sales, Engineered Plastics, Ken-Mac Metals, OnlineMetals, thyssenkrupp Steel Services, thyssenkrupp Supply Chain Services, and thyssenkrupp Materials de Mexico.ROLE SUMMARYThe Director of Digital Commerce Solutions for tkMNA is a senior-level role responsible for overseeing near-shore and off-shore software engineers, and providing leadership, vision and direction for tkMNA's digital commerce technologies. This position is responsible for recruiting, developing & retaining talent, as well as ensuring the software engineering staff has the skills & capabilities to meet business needs. The Director of Digital Commerce Technologies oversees the technical design and implementation of all digital commerce initiatives across tkMNA and is responsible for championing best practices and ensuring initiatives achieve business outcomes.The Director of Digital Commerce Technologies works closely with business partners within tkMNA as well as thyssenkrupp Materials' IT departments in Germany & India. Your responsibilitiesRESPONSIBILITIES Leadership & Strategy ResponsibilitiesProvide vision and direction for tkMNA's digital commerce technology direction.Responsible for developing short- and long- term strategic plans by collaborating with tk IT teams and tkMNA Business leadersBuild strong working relationships with business leaders within tkMNA to ensure Digital Commerce Solutions meet expectations and contribute to achievement of business goals.Work with product management leadership to design, manage, and/or execute product roadmaps.Leverage strategic thinking, insights, and digital experience to identify key opportunities to continuously drive the business performanceLead offshore software engineering organization and related third-party companies to successful delivery of business outcomes.Lead key cross functional initiatives across marketing, operations, technology, and analytics to enhance the end-to-end delivery experienceSupport and facilitate innovative and experimental software development work to test new ideas, within bounded cost and time frames.Manage budget, with ongoing focus on personnel, vendor, and capital expenditures.Oversees relationships with consultants, vendors, and contractors and supports negotiation of statements of work and business terms with suppliers.Lead and Participate in Digital Commerce Steering CommitteesTalent Management ResponsibilitiesDevelop workforce strategy to meet the organization's current and future software engineering needs through developing, hiring, and/or sourcing talent.Manage resource allocation across teams to maximize business impact of resources and ensure each team has the skills and capabilities needed to achieve its objectives.Working with Human Resources to manage talent, playing an influential role in performance management and compensation processes, role and competency definition, and diversity and equity initiatives.Recruit and hire talent to address new needs and skill gaps.Facilitate collaboration and partnership across other IT teams and business stakeholders.Build a culture that supports learning, collaboration, transparency, and inclusiveness.Manage employee engagement and promote a compelling employee value proposition to retain software engineering staff.Technology & Software Engineering Responsibilities Technical responsibility for managing tkMNA's digital commerce landscape including Commerce Solutions (eg, SAP Cloud Commerce, Mirakl Marketplace), Marketing Automation Solutions (eg.Marketo) as well as integration with various complementary platforms and service providersChampion best practices and modern software development methods and tools.Lead software engineering teams and other stakeholders to set goals for improving code quality, maintainability, security, and scalability. Monitor progress against these goals.Implement and manage software development status reporting, metrics, and benchmarks.Manage collaboration with other thyssenkrupp IT teams to ensure software performs well in production and meets SLAs.Work with the tkMNA security teams to ensure software is effectively secured and that risks are mitigated.Your profileQualificationsSolid technical background with understanding and experience in Commerce Technologies (SAP Cloud Commerce, Marketo, etc), software development (DevOps), cloud architecture, micro services and web technologiesKnowledge of hosted cloud service providers such as AWS, MS AzureProduct/Agile mindsetSignificant prior experience managing technical implementations as well as the development operations of running enterprise level ecommerce applications is a mustA deep and appreciable understanding of agile principles such a scrum methodology and the practical application of standard work is required.Ability to clearly participate in daily bi-directional communication with cross functional teams is required to ensure the continuity of the programsStrong organizational capacity and an innate ability to orchestrate the continuous flow of work from sprint to sprint in regular release intervals is requiredBachelor's degree or equivalent applied experience.10+ years of experience in software engineering.10+ years of experience in managing talent.Ability to travel internationallySkills and ExperienceDemonstrated leadership skills and experience.Strong talent management skills including talent development, coaching, mentoring, and team motivation.Experience leading geographically distributed teams.Ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships at all levels of the organization.Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information in a condensed manner to various stakeholders verbally and in writing.Strong organizational skills, including an ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple priorities with competing demands for resources.Understanding of software development methodologies and best practices.Understanding of relevant tools and platforms (e.g. cloud platforms, web technologies, client-server technologies, continuous integration and deployment), with an eagerness to learn about new and unfamiliar technologies.Adaptability and ability to manage rapid change in business needs, processes, or technologies.Your benefits with usContactIf you are an applicant with a California residency, please click on the following link:California Job Applicant Notice of Collection
