Job Description:

The Project Manager is responsible for supporting and advancing SME Committees in alignment with the organization's strategic goals and objectives. The Project Manager oversees and engages SME Committees - planning, development, and execution of initiatives including, but not limited to: Conferences/Events, Publications, Media/Digital Programs, Reports, and Forums. The Project Manager is responsible for a variety of strategic activities. This position requires a high level of independence and the ability to manage multiple projects that involve diverse constituencies. This position manages all aspects of planning, scheduling, organizing, directing and managing timelines and milestones of defined projects.MAJOR FUNCTIONSGathers and organizes information on manufacturing technologies and applications and shares (with staff members) to support initiatives.Manage volunteer group activities including online and in person meetings. Activities surrounding meeting management including: developing meeting agendas, materials, action items, follow up activities and post meeting notes.Recruits and engages technical volunteers and thought leaders for various committees and project involvementOrganize, administer, and participate on Community and committee teleconferences as well as in person meetings.Develops and maintains relationships with industry members and high-level executives.Participates in key industry events to build industry contacts and visibility for SME, and further our mission.Travels to on-site meetings to lead and support programming.Project manages multiple projects simultaneously. This position reviews project objectives, controls activities and expenses, and manages deadlines.Independently solves problems.Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILL, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's degree in technology, science or engineering degree recommendedExcellent conceptualization and synthesis skills2-4 years experience in project management roleFamiliarity with social media platforms, event hosting and meeting platforms.Familiarity with online survey tools (ie. Qualtrics)Excellent communicator (both verbal and written), including the ability to interface effectively at the executive level and across the organizationEffective interpersonal and organizational skills, including a strong customer service orientationComfortable with public speakingStrong project management skills.
