The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: - Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks - Develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities through assigned tasks - Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives - Prepare engineering related calculations, design drawings, specifications, and visual aids - Assist with field work (e.g., groundwater and soil sampling, well installation, and contractor oversight) - Collect and enter data, and apply technical principles and theories - Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance, and draft reports based on observed conclusions and professional judgment - Task manage portions of larger projects and mentor junior level staff or interns - Operates and maintains remediation systems - Builds analytic and design skills. - Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an - experienced engineer. - Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer. - Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer. - Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems. - Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision. Minimum Requirements - BA/BS + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education Preferred Qualifications - Bachelors degree Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering - 0-2 years experience in environmental consulting or related field - Demonstrated technical writing abilities - Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software - Ability to travel regionally for short-term overnight assignments - Valid US Drivers License - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - U.S. Citizenship required - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) - OSHA HAZWOPER 40 Hour training - Contractor oversight experience - Construction inspection experience - Remedial investigation, remediation planning, or design experience - Previous field work, a plus - Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, HCS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models or other drainage and water modeling software) What We Offer When you join AECOM, you become part of a company that is pioneering the future .
