Help Desk TechnicianJob Summary:The Help Desk Technician is responsible for off-site end-user support and technical assistance to customers who are using software, hardware, or other computer systems and need help completing tasks or troubleshooting problems through diagnostic tests using a remote access tool on their computers. These duties are in addition to a stronger skill pallet with an ability to troubleshoot and diagnose larger problems.Accountabilities:* Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware* Confer with users in identifying problems and determining solutions, including users' remote locations* Provide first-level contact and convey resolutions to customer issues by phone, email, and/or chat* Manage Office 365 Applications* Track, route, and redirect problems to correct resources* Walk customers through the problem-solving process using remote tools* Contribute to Help Desk documentation through updates and suggestions* Train computer users* Maintain daily performance of computer systems* Respond to email messages for customers seeking help* Ask questions to determine the nature of the problem* Walk customer through the problem-solving process* Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software* Clean up computers* Run diagnostic programs to resolve problems* Able to configure and troubleshoot computers and networking equipment, including PCs, switches, wireless access points, etc. Configure and troubleshoot Windows clients* Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems* Install computer peripherals for users* Follow up with customers to ensure issue has been resolved* Gain feedback from customers about computer usage* Run reports determining malfunctions that continue to occur* Perform all other duties as assigned by managementSkills/Competencies required:* Attention to detail and safety* Ability to interact with customers and team members respectfully and politely* Ability to travel to other sites. Vehicle is necessary* Strong interpersonal skills and consistent follow-through on assigned tasks* Capacity to work beyond your comfort level and desire to learn new skills* Ability to communicate with other levels of support* Ability to occasionally lift +25 lbs. and be able to "self-equip" necessary safety equipment and/or PPE.Education, Qualifications and Experience:* Minimum of High School diploma, Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science preferred or equivalent experience* Minimum of 1 years of experience working in a technical support role preferred* Ability to work in a team environment* Exceptional troubleshooting skills* Exceptional customer service skills* Excellent verbal and written communication skills* Clear driving record* Ability to climb an 8 ft. ladder* Be punctualJob Type: Full-timePay: $40,420.00 - $44,248.00 per yearBenefits:* 401(k)* Dental insurance* Health insurance* Paid time off* Tuition reimbursement* Vision insuranceSchedule:* 8 hour shiftAbility to commute/relocate:* Southfield, MI 48075: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Experience:* Help desk: 1 year (Preferred)* Windows: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: One location
