Job Description:The Lead Quality Engineer - Warranty will oversee and continually improve the efficiency and effectiveness of IAC North America's warranty process and related systems. This includes working directly with customers and our manufacturing plants on claim data analysis, debit management, contract review, part return analysis, lessons learned and read across implementation. The position will lead, develop and enhance the skills of the plant warranty champions, and ensure cross-functional warranty teams are engaged and with timely execution of necessary actions. The Lead Quality Engineer - Warranty will be the subject matter expert for customer warranty knowledge in North America. Responsibilities:

  • Warranty Claim Data Management including the acquisition and analysis of customer warranty claim data
  • Establish key customer contacts for warranty processes
  • Ensure part reviews are happening with Engineering and Manufacturing personnel to address warranty claims along with providing updates to internal and external stakeholders
  • Be the point persons/lead in customer warranty meetings and communication as needed
  • Establish metrics to track timely closure of issues and actions
  • Develop reliable and accurate warranty data reports for executive review
  • Ensure that warranty parts reviews and associated claims, responsibility, and associated debits are reviewed, concurred, reported, tracked and communicated
  • Attend customer part reviews and coordinate/manage part returns to manufacturing plants as needed
  • Ensure warranty risks / liabilities are identified and communicated in a timely manner.
  • Connect with IAC plant warranty leads and quality managers to ensure parts are analyzed in a timely manner. Escalate to ensure timely actions as necessary
  • Establish standard tools, practices and procedures for mfg plant warranty teams to utilize as part of their warranty review and action plan process
  • Participate in the contractual review process for warranty terms and conditions as needed
  • Be subject matter expert in the establishment of technical factors/responsibility for customer portfolios
  • Ensure technical factors are reflective of warranty performance in the field. Monitor performance and corrective actions to continually mitigate liabilities and reduce technical factors
  • Ensure that lessons learned are distributed and read across pertinent products, processes, customers, and plants and are captured in control plans, D/PFMEA's, design guidelines, etc.
  • Lead the auditing and development of initiatives for satisfactory compliance, and enhancement of warranty management related requirements, e.g., CQI-14 Skills:
    • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships with internal and external customers and teams
    • Be a leader without ego but has desire, knowledge and drive to constantly improve
    • Skill in facilitating and leading internal and external meetings
    • Ability to work independently
    • Self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment
    • Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills.
    • Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices
    • Passion for continuous learning to increase skills and knowledge base
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Education:
      • Bachelor Degree in engineering discipline preferred Experience:
        • 10-15 years of experience with a minimum of 5 years in warranty for a manufacturing company in the automotive industry preferred
